Hong Kong Singer Hacken Lee quit Universal Music

TVB and Big 4 record companies copyright issue has been troubling for a few months now, the ones who are suffering the greatest impact are of course the singers. It was rumored that TVB appointed their “god-son” Hacken Lee to be this year’s World Cup host, TVB producer (Lee Hon Yuen) reveals: “We have always collaborated well, have chemistry and it’s not about the money. Hacken won’t mind.” Recently it was said that within Universal Group Music, a division of two groups started one named “Universal Group” and the other “TVB Group”. Yesterday Universal’s first brother Hacken Lee attended an iCable event and especially arranged two reporters to interview him, unfortunately that did not help, Hacken still answered in Mandarin.

Hacken maintained his “conservative” and “traditional” attitude to clarify that he accepted iCable’s interview because he respects the contract: “At this time, I am responsible for the duties under the contract, we’ll talk when the contract expires. (Will you renew the contract?) I don’t know.” Hacken’s contract with both TVB and Universal are about to expire, however Hacken betrays Universal: “I signed with TVB already, so I can go on TVB programs. However, my record company said I can’t go on TVB, I don’t know which TV network I should go on! (Will you appear on other networks?) No, this is just my perspective. After new years, I will discuss with a manager, it’s troublesome and I have a headache.”

TVB Best Actor Award: Wayne Lai “Rosy Business”

Last night “TVB Anniversary Awards 2009″ was held in Tseung Kwan O’s TVB City. TV King & Queen both went to the hot favorites Wayne Lai and Sheren Tang from “Rosy Business”. “Rosy Business” overshadowed “Beyond” as they were the big winners of the night sweeping away 6 award categories.

Charmaine Sheh is the most expensive “dinner guest”

Guang Ming Daily reported that Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh See-Man is the most expensive “dinner guest”. It is a common scenario in the special administrative region’s entertainment industry for female artistes to attend dinner parties hosted by rich men for a price. Sheh was also Miss Hong Kong second runner-up in 1997. Rich men from China have offered the TVB star HK$1.5mil (RM650,610) to attend a dinner party.

Louis Koo supports Wayne Lai for TV King

Ray Lui, Jamie Chik, Gallen Lo and Anita Yuen have all returned to TVB series, Louis expressed that although he has no contact with TVB, but in the last half year TVB have approached him with scripts, but he has no time to do series. Asked what type of series that would attract him? Louis said: “I like science fiction themes and I do hope to participate in writing the script. I have worked with Sean Lau before, but in the next two years I am very busy and won’t have time for series.”

Moses Chan doing nose bleed scene several times in Central

Moses Chan has been busy shooting for TVB new series , last night the cast were in the SOHO district in Central filming. At the scene, it was seen that Moses who was sitting in the car after getting attacked by someone, he looked injured. In order to get the nose bleed effect, a worker stuck some red liquid up Moses nose. When it was officially time to film, Moses was unable to push out the ‘pretend blood’ from his nose at the right time, he would often start bleeding before the cameras rolled, sometimes the bleeding did not flow smoothly out. As a result, Moses had to do the scene many times, almost using all of the red liquid before the Director said it was okay.

Fala Chen Sings the Theme Song for “The Stew of Life”

The cast of “The Stew of Life” were at Olympian City yesterday and they held a salad making contest to promote the series.

This will be Fala Chen’s first time singing a theme song for a series, and she gives herself 70%. She says, “I’ve recorded the song three times”. (Did you practice at Neway Karaoke?) They don’t have the song yet!” (The series is about cooking?) “I know how to cook Japanese style and Western dishes”. (Has your boyfriend tried your cooking?) “Many of my friends have tried my cooking, and they all praise it for being tasty”. (Are you worried about the ratings for the series?) “I’m not worried because the backstage crew have watched it, and they praise it for being good”.

Patrick Tang drags Shirley into the water

Yesterday Shirley Yeung and Patrick Tang attended a Disney event together dressed in cute outfits. The two even told stories to children actively, the scene was quite lively. Shirley accepted an interview and expressed that her mom often told her stories during her childhood and now she can pass on these stories to other children, it’s an extremely special feeling! Asked if she would want to participate in TVB’s passing the torch event? She reveals that she would be hosting for a sporting evening ceremony soon. She said: “I feel pressure too, but having this opportunity is quite meaningful!” Asked about which water sports she liked? Shirley loves driving the most and praises Guo Jing Jing’s talent in diving. “She just simply did diving and got 5 awards, it is truly amazing! (Will you go watch the event live?) I want to, there will be a whole different feeling!”
